Bio.

Ali Fitzgerald was born in 1983 in Oakland California, and traveled extensively as a small child, thanks to her mother's career as a naval officer. She still gets pretty angsty about leaving friends, and has residual resentment about a certain puppet theater her mother gave away prior to a move to make room in their car.

She has lived in California, Japan, Maryland, Virginia, both Carolinas, Granada, Spain, Austin, Texas and now lives and works in Berlin, Germany.

Ali attended Davidson College in North Carolina, and studied art, Latin American Cinema and Short-Prose Fiction. However, her degree just says "art." She graduated with honors, and then attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture before enrolling in the University of Texas at Austin's graduate program.

Ali received her Master's of Fine Arts from U.T. in 2007 and taught Drawing and Painting there from 2007-2008.

Her work has been mentioned/featured in Art in America, The New York Times, Beautiful/Decay, Artlies! and Glasstire: Texas Visual Art Online.

She is represented by Art Palace, in Austin Texas.
